Maybe you keep choosing emotionally unavailable people.

Maybe you find it difficult to say no without feeling guilty.

Maybe you are always the strong one, the responsible one, the person everybody can rely on.

Or perhaps there is one area of your life where, no matter how much you understand, plan or try to change… you somehow return to the same place.

Sometimes the problem is not a lack of knowledge.
Sometimes there is something deeper underneath the pattern.

Have you ever thought…

“Why do I keep doing this when I know better?”

You may have read the books. Done the therapy. Listened to the podcasts.

Promised yourself: next time I will choose differently.

And still…

01you overgive.
02you find it difficult to disappoint people.
03you take responsibility for things that are not really yours.
04you end up in familiar relationship dynamics.
05you feel guilty when you finally choose yourself.

Or you simply have a strange feeling that a particular story in your life is older than the situation you are currently living through.

This is where systemic work can offer a different perspective.

The method

What are Family Constellations?

Family Constellations are an experiential way of looking at a problem within the wider context of our relationships and family system.

Rather than analysing a situation only through words, we explore the relationships, positions and patterns surrounding it.

Sometimes we discover that what looks like…

“I just need to be more confident”

may also involve a long-standing role of keeping everybody happy.

“I always choose the wrong partner”

may contain a much older pattern around closeness, rejection or belonging.

“I am terrible with money”

may be connected with beliefs and loyalties around success, safety, struggle or having more than the people we love.

The purpose is not to blame your parents or explain every difficulty through childhood. It is to see the situation from a wider perspective.

And sometimes, when something becomes visible, a different choice becomes possible.

Step by step

What actually happens during a constellation?

You begin with a topic. It can be something very specific:

a relationshipa difficult decisiona recurring conflictmoneyworka family situationa feeling of being stuck

or simply: “I don’t understand why this keeps happening.”

You do not need to tell the whole story of your life. We begin with what feels important now.

During the constellation, people or objects may be used to represent important elements of the situation. This allows us to look at the dynamic from the outside rather than remaining completely inside the story.

We may explore

  • What keeps repeating?
  • What role do you tend to take?
  • What happens when you try to do something differently?
  • Where does responsibility belong?
  • What may not have been visible before?

There is no requirement to believe in anything. You can simply come with curiosity.

You do not need to know anything about constellations before you come

In fact, many people attend their first workshop simply because something in their life no longer makes sense.

You may not even know exactly what you want to work on yet. That is okay.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect question.
You only need something you are willing to look at.

Your question

What can you bring to the workshop?

You might come with a question about:

Relationships

Why do I keep finding myself in the same dynamic?

Boundaries

Why is somebody else’s disappointment so difficult for me?

Money

Why do I seem to reach the same financial ceiling again and again?

Family

Why do I feel responsible for everybody?

Decisions

Why do I know what I want and then talk myself out of it?

Work and success

Why does moving forward sometimes feel strangely uncomfortable?

Or perhaps your question is simply:

“Why does this feel so familiar?”

A workshop is not about forcing a breakthrough

You do not have to cry.
You do not have to share everything.
You do not have to perform vulnerability in front of a room full of people.

And nobody will tell you what decision you have to make.

This work is about seeing.

Sometimes that brings a strong realisation. Sometimes it is quieter. A sentence. A position in the room. A relationship suddenly seen from another angle. Something that makes you think:

“That explains a lot.”

A note from me

I am Polish and I live and work in the UK. So yes, when I speak English, you may hear my Polish accent. I am not going to pretend it isn’t there. 🙂

But this work has never been about speaking perfect English. It is about something much more human. About what happens between people. About what we feel before we find the words for it.

About relationships, belonging, distance, closeness, loyalty and the things we often communicate without saying anything at all.

Family Constellations are experiential work. Much of what we explore happens beyond explanation and beyond perfect language.

For me, the most important thing is not whether every sentence sounds perfectly British. It is whether we can create enough safety, attention and connection to look honestly at what is happening underneath the story.

And that language is surprisingly universal.

About me

My name is Joanna Dorobisz.

My work combines Family Constellations with my background in personal development and therapeutic approaches.

I am especially interested in the patterns that make intelligent, capable women ask themselves: “Why am I doing this again?”

The patterns around relationships. Being the strong one. Taking too much responsibility. Difficulty receiving. Money. Boundaries. And the invisible loyalties that can sometimes keep us attached to ways of living that no longer fit us.

My role during the workshop is not to tell you what your life should look like. It is to help create a space where you can see more clearly what may be influencing it.

The day

What the day will look like

We will spend the day together in a small group. There will be time for:

  • individual constellation work
  • observing and participating in other constellations
  • reflection
  • questions
  • breaks throughout the day

You may be surprised how much can be recognised in someone else’s constellation too. Sometimes we watch another person’s story and suddenly think:

“I know this feeling.”

Still wondering if this is for you?

You do not need to understand Family Constellations before attending. Perhaps the better question is:

Is there something in my life that I keep trying to change… and yet it keeps returning?

If the answer is yes, this workshop may give you an opportunity to look at it differently.

Not from inside the same story. But from a little further away.

And sometimes that is where something new becomes visible.
